Kingfisher Creek Safari Lodge

Absolutely loved it here, so peaceful and restful. We actually cancelled our afternoon plans on the first day to chill and rest in camp watching the birds. We loved sundowners up the lookout tower overlooking a water hole. The lodge is immaculate. Beautifully tended grounds and high quality room fittings. Extra touches such as a fridge and water dispenser in the room was much appreciated. Super comfy bed. Annie is such a warm and welcoming host and treated us like family. The lovely chef went out of her way to cook special meals for our fussy son. The food is simply excellent with wonderful breakfasts too. We were very sad to leave and next time we will stay for longer.

The lodge is simply great, well located close to the Kruger and other private reserves. Annie is a great host and made our stay a fantastic experience. The service and was just outstanding. We enjoyed every second of our stay. We hope to come back soon.

Brought in 2025 at this wonderful safari resort. After arriving a day later than expected due to an horrendous journey, Annie and her team gave us an exceptional warm welcome. This is a dream place to stay, from the fabulous freshly cooked, very tasty food to the unusual, comfortable accommodation. The rooms are all detached and made to look like large tents. They are clean and very comfortable with everything you need even down to wifi, tea making facilities and beautiful soft fluffy towels. Something a bit different is the outside shower which I loved. Don’t worry it is very private with a wooden fence at head height going all the way around it. The staff are the loveliest of people, so helpful and friendly. If you are wanting to go on some other activities then don’t worry, Annie is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful; she will discuss the varied outings that are available and book you onto the ones you want to do. The stars for me though are the animals, from zebra & giraffes to hyena and even leopards. There is a high viewing tower where you can see elephant and hippo as well as listening to the lions roar in the background. It is a true privilege to observe wild animals in their natural habitat. I could go on and on, however I will end by saying if you want a great holiday, observing and experiencing Africa’s wonderful wild animals in a safe, friendly and comfortable accommodation then go to Kingfisher Creek Private Nature Reserve, you won’t be disappointed. My 5* happy place.

Well-designed rooms / tents with outdoor showers which we loved. Very good food, dinner as well as breakfast. Very nice staff and owner. Just good to know that it is quite a long drive (approx. 12 km) from the main road to the lodge which needs time. Zebras and other animals are walking nearby, in particular at breakfast time. Great!

Well where do we start.. .. we started planning our trip to South Africa about a year ago, and shopped around a lot to see what was on offer from different lodges around the area, let’s just say as soon as we came in contact with Annie (the owner) from Kingfisher Creek we just knew that this was the right choice to make, her break down and customer service towards planning our trip to full fill our dreams and expectations was exactly what we was looking for, so we already had a idea that we were going to enjoy ourselves here, so we decided to book for a 10 night stay! We arrived at hoedspruit airport and was greeted by Betty who was warm and friendly. Betty drove us to the lodge providing information on the way about what activities we will be doing and about the area. We were even greeted by 2 giraffes pulling into the lodge which kickstarted our safari excitement! We were blown away with the lodge, the welcoming from Annie and her staff, the facilities and just the feel that the whole place had to it. The rooms are just perfect. We stayed in the Malachite Tent which is on a high deck overlooking the African bush. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, the outside shower was amazing, To be surrounded by wildlife sounds and brilliant views of the sunset! A few nights we were sitting on our balcony after dinner and could hear hyenas calling in the distance. I mean, it doesn’t get much better than that! The rooms are equipped with everything and more needed for a comfortable stay, the pool and deck area were beautiful and the bar was stocked with a huge variety of drinks, beers, cider, wines and spirits as well a large selection of soft drinks to cater for everyone’s favourite tipple, and what better place to have a drink than to be sitting overlooking the wildlife and listening to the sounds of the roaming animals, we were even joined by some giraffes and Nyala a few times during our stay whilst relaxing and having a drink, there really is no experience like it. As the days went on in our stay we started to realise this lodge isn’t just accomodation to put your head down after a day of safari or activities, it was actually a home away from home, and added so much more to our experience, that’s all down to the kindness of Annie and her staff, they really do go above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. The food was exceptional, and you could tell how much time and effort goes into creating the courses, which are all presented beautifully and taste even better than they look! We had a few changes we wanted to make to our itinerary which Annie dealt with efficiently to ensure we got the most of what we wanted. All tours and activities we done were amazing including full day Kruger, blue canyon safari, panorama tour, guernsey bush walks and that is just to name a few!
